Ericka Hatfield is currently the Vice President of Employee Communications at Cheer Partners. She supports and manages clients focused on their Internal Communications efforts centered on executive leadership and employee engagement. Previously she was the Director of Client Engagement for VMLY&R. She led and managed the paid media efforts for the 2020 Census campaign (Best Tweet of 2020, Gold Effie, Grand Ogilvy Awards) and served as the DEI Fearless Champion and chair of Fluorescent, the Black employee Resource Group for North America.
Ms. Hatfield is a highly accomplished and seasoned marketing professional with expertise in leading creative direction initiatives within corporations. Whether planning or managing complex campaigns or events that enhance profitability, brand awareness, and market penetration or launching new digital media platforms; a forward-thinking leader and innovator continually forging new business opportunities, including transforming innovative ideas into results.
Prior to joining VMLY&R, Ms. Hatfield was the Head of Marketing at Transit Wireless. She created the brand awareness for the new wireless and Wi-Fi technology built in the New York City underground subway system. With more than 15 years of marketing and communications experience within the healthcare, technology, government, non-profit, education, transportation, retail, and commercial real estate industries, she has been driving revenue and brand awareness for companies and organizations across the United States.
Originally from Dallas, Texas, Ms. Hatfield received her BA in Journalism from the University of North Texas and her MBA, from Saint Peter’s University. She is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and serves on the Leadership Council for the 20|30 Clinton Foundation, Council XIX for the National Women’s History Museum, American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network Legislative Ambassador as well as a member of the Obama Foundation and Junior League of Washington.

Clara Luo is a Group Strategy Director who heads up the BAV Strategic Studio, at VMLY&R’s BAV Group, one of the industry’s most respected global brand & research consultancies. Focused on the intersection of brand research & strategy, Clara strives to understand white-space opportunities that drive both business growth and brand value.
She has spent the last decade focused on defining strategic growth roadmaps for brands, companies and people (through mentoring & coaching). She brings deep marketing and communication expertise across categories such as tech, retail, CPG, non-profit, B2B, financial services and small, disruptor brands.
She has been a featured speaker at various conferences and universities including SXSW, The Conference Board, Cornell, NYU, USC, Rutgers on brand strategy.
Clara is passionate about mentoring the generation of leaders. Clara regular speaks, hosts, and facilitates honest discussions and podcasts around career development and diversity, equity & inclusion in the workplace.
Clara is a founding member & steering committee chair for Asian American Advertising Federation (3AF), NextGen Leaders Mentoring program. She also currently sits on the board of Asians in Advertising.
Clara holds a BS in business administration with a dual concentration in marketing and finance from Boston University Questrom School of Business.
